Components, Hardware Inventory

Unread postby garrettwilkin » Wed Apr 24, 2013 5:04 pm

Who's got some components that could be used for an arduino project?

Now that I'm savvy enough to wire an LED, I want to try and read a sensor. maybe an accelerometer or some type of light sensor would be a good start.

I'm thinking I could actually make an interesting display by just hooking up a motor to an "axel" and tying a piece of string or ribbon to the end, that would make it obvious that the motor is turning. Or Maybe turn on a fan that would blow on a pinwheel. I'd like to experiment with triggering events based on sensor input.

I've got 2 electric motor speed controllers, a power regulator (or module?), and a mysterious IC I forgot why I bought, has to do with electric motors...maybe I can do some digging and find out what exactly. Also have the obvious...arduino, breadboard, and lots of wire.
Unfortunately I just threw out some of my cool electric motors thinking I would never get to it again.

I'll def bring the stuff with me when I can make it up. Unfortunately I expect that to be a couple weeks from now. Somehow I don't think I'll lose interest in between now and than :)

I have put some information about the 37 in 1 sensor kit from eBay into github.

I have had success with the ds18b20 temp sensor. They are a one wire bus so you can wire multiple together. They have a unique hex id so you can query a single sensor on the wire.
